Syc, Los Angeles singer, songwriter, producer and former Odd Future member Syd effortlessly swerves from R&B and hip-hop to jazz, funk, and electronic music.• Raised in a musical family, Syd was interested in music from a young age. When she eventually joined the hip-hop collective Odd Future, the group often practiced at her house.• In 2011, Syd formed the soul group The Internet with musicians Matt Martians, Steve Lacy, Patrick Paige II, and Christopher Smith. They debuted in 2011 with Purple Naked Ladies and earned a Grammy nomination-for Best Urban Contemporary Album-for their third album, 2015's Ego Death.• Syd officially left Odd Future in 2016 and released her solo debut album, Fin, in 2017. Before the year was out, she'd released another project, the Always Never Home EP.• Her 2019 single "Getting Late" was included on the soundtrack for Melina Matsoukas' film Queen & Slim.• Syd features on the song "Urgency" from Lil Uzi Vert's 2020 album Eternal Atake.
