Davis Daniel | OohYeah

Davis Daniel is reigniting his career with the same passion and authenticity that once made him a household name in country music. From the Texas honky-tonks to country radio, where his iconic hit “Fighting Fire with Fire” blazed trails, Daniel’s return promises to captivate both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners.Raised on a cattle ranch in western Nebraska, Daniel’s journey into music began early. After the passing of his father, his family relocated to Denver, where a teenage Daniel picked up the guitar and quickly made his mark in the nightclub scene. His talent and drive eventually led him to Nashville in the late 1980s, where he caught the attention of producer Ron Haffkine. By 1991, he had signed with Mercury/Polygram Records and released his debut album Fighting Fire with Fire. The album produced multiple charting singles, including “Picture Me” and the title track, and earned Daniel critical acclaim for his evocative voice, often compared to Keith Whitley. His self-titled sophomore album followed in 1994, featuring fan favorites like “I Miss Her Missing Me” and “Tyler,” the latter becoming a chart success in Canada. In 1996, Daniel released his third studio album, I Know a Place, on A&M Records. Despite strong material and early momentum, the label shuttered its country division on the day his single was set to launch, abruptly halting his major-label run.Frustrated with industry setbacks and focused on supporting his family, Daniel stepped back from the spotlight. Yet, his unmistakable voice and storytelling kept him a respected figure in country music. Over the years, he returned periodically to the stage, and in July 2025, he re-released his signature hit “Picture Me” exclusively on OohYeah.app—signaling a new chapter in his career. Now, Daniel is returning to his roots with a renewed passion. His comeback begins where it all started: the honky-tonks and dance halls of Texas. With new music in the works and a Texas tour on the horizon, Daniel is embracing the future while staying true to the timeless sound that first won over country audiences.“This is where it all began for me,” Daniel says. “The honky-tonks and dance halls gave me my start, and I can’t wait to get back to that energy, reconnect with fans, and introduce my music to a new generation.”In 2025, Davis Daniel is poised for one of country music’s most exciting comebacks—a return to the studio, the stage, and the hearts of fans everywhere.
